FUTA’s first female VC
FUTA’s first female VC. Prof. Adenike Oladiji, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of FUTA , the Federal University of Technology Akure have been congratulated by Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq
Oladiji of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Ilorin, was became the eighth substantive VC of the University recently.
The appointment was announced by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Ambassador Godknows Igali, who said that the Council ratified the appointment at its Special Meeting held last Thursday (May 12, 2022).
With this appointment, Oladiji became the university’s eighth substantive VC and the first female to hold that position.
She succeeds Prof. Joseph Fuwape, whose tenure ends on Monday, 23rd May, 2022. Her appointment takes effect from the 24th of May, 2022.
The governor in a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, his Chief Press Secretary said that the appointment was a boost for gender parity and inclusion.
